Coastal Carolina Clay Guild Reception and Preview

Coastal Carolina Clay Guild (CCCG) will have its Spring Show and Sale at Cameron Art Museum May 18 & 19 in the Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall. A reception and preview sale will be held Friday 6:00 pm -8:00pm and the Show and Sale will continue on Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm. Twenty-five CCCG members, including well-known potters Hiroshi Sueyoshi and Don Johns will be exhibiting and selling their work at the show.
ONGOING CIVIL WAR ACTIVITIES: 1st NC Co. E

The newly formed 1st North Carolina Company E has made the Cameron Art Museum its home site. The unit will provide monthly civil war activities on the museum’s grounds, so come and watch drills, rifle firings and more. Engage with the reenactors about their passion for providing living history and explore the historic Civil War site where the Battle of Forks Road took place. The museum’s site is where Major General Robert F. Hoke made his last stand against Union soldiers comprised primarily of U.S. Colored Troops in the final fight for Wilmington on February 20, 1865.
Free and open to the public.

Kids @ CAM includes special guest artist and children’s author, Cammeron Batanides, who will give readings from her new book, Meet Panda; the sweet story of a young girl meeting her new puppy Panda for the first time. Children will have the chance to work with Cammeron and make their very own art books! To add to the fun, guest artists from the Coastal Carolina Clay Guild will be on hand to help families make their own clay art they can take home! Coastal Carolina Clay Guild sale is held concurrent with Kids @ CAM. Don’t miss this exciting afternoon of creativity, inspiration and art fun!
Meet Panda readings scheduled at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
