Basic/Restorative Yoga is for all ages and physical abilities. The key to basic yoga is learning to breathe with the body while strengthening muscles. Basic/Restorative encourages each individual to find their own point of strength and lengthening while working on the mat or chair. Yoga is about the union of the mind, body and spirit. My mission as a teacher is to release the yoga student's mind from expectations - allowing the teacher within each student to recognize their limitations and reject being competitive and lift the heart to joy.

Stemming from Hatha Yoga principles, these classes focus on linking breath with motion in order to help create a relaxing practice that leaves you with an overall sense of well-being. All levels are welcome to all classes. Modifications are offered in order to make each class accessible to all levels. Students are encouraged to develop their practice on their mats by recognizing what benefits their bodies. This helps to create an enjoyable practice that supports individual needs and growth. www.practiceofpeaceyoga.com

Appropriate for the beginner who wants to build a strong foundation of basic Yoga postures, relaxation, breathing techniques and to refine and master the fundamentals. Poses and sequences are practiced with alignment in mind offering the opportunity to gain confidence, strength and flexibility. Modifications are offered and the use of props are encouraged, making it suitable for all levels. Emphasis is placed on breath awareness and being mindful of the body’s alignment or limitations. This combination can help guide the mind to move toward a more meditative state.
