Pancoe Art Education Center
The Pancoe Center houses The Clay Studio, with studios and an outdoor kiln. Master artist Hiroshi Sueyoshi works in a fully-equipped, on-site studio focused exclusively on clay.The Clay Studio is established to further the techniques, forms and conventions of clay, while encouraging experimentation in contemporary media, concepts and techniques.
The studio offers classes and workshops for both novice and accomplished artists. The Clay Studio offers a unique laboratory for study and work in clay arts, providing visiting artists and craftsmen a unique venue for collaborative projects. The facility provides a laboratory of experimentation and innovation in clay.
Hiroshi Sueyoshi

A native of Tokyo, Hiroshi arrived in the U.S. in 1971 to help build Humble Mill Pottery in Asheboro, NC. Sueyoshi has taught at numerous institutions including Cape Fear Community College. His works are primarily made using the Japanese techniques of neriage and nerikomi. Sueyoshi has exhibited his award winning work in exhibitions across America. His work is in private, corporate, and institutional collections including the Renwick Gallery. Sueyoshi is a graduate of Tokyo Aeronautical College and the Ochanomizu Design School.

Ceramic Collection
The museum has installed new display cases to exhibit ceramic works from the collection. From historic to contemporary, and occasional special exhibitions. The ceramics gallery is available to visitors during open hours in the clay studio at the Pancoe Art Education Center
Registration Info
Pre-registration is required for workshops and classes. To register, please call 910-395-5999 ext. 1000 or email Christine Kilian Your payment must arrive in our office within four days of your phone registration. VISA or MasterCard are accepted and charges will be processed the first day of class. Registrations are not formally acknowledged - you will only hear from us in the event of a schedule change.
Class Payment Policy
A student will be registered for a class when payment is made in full. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card (VISA or MasterCard.) If, for any reason, the student cancels their registration more than two (2) weeks in advance of the beginning of the class, a full refund will be made (minus a $5 processing fee). Any cancellation made less than two (2) weeks prior to the start of class will result in the loss of the class fee in its entirety.
